CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

Is this qualification for me?

The SMSTS is designed for site mangers, site agents, and persons who are, or aspire to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling, and administering groups of staff and a workforce. in the construction industry who either hold, or aspire to hold, a management position.

The course is appropriate for project managers, site managers and site supervisors.

  • Changes in accepted working practices
  • Scaffolding
  • Behavioural safety in the workplace
  • Excavations
  • Demolitions
  • Confined spaces

How long will it take me?

The qualification is designed to take five full days to complete, when delivered face to face. You are also able to undertake this qualification online.

How will I be assessed?

You are assessed by a 25 question examination, consisting of 21 multiple choice questions, and 4 safety critical questions, which require a short written answer. Successful learners will need to achieve at least 80%.

Are there any entry requirements?

It is expected that learners have a minimum understanding of Level 1 in Literacy.
