CCNSG Safety Passport Renewal – Test Only
Is this qualification for me?
The CCNSG Safety Passport, accredited by the ECITB aims to provide workers with the knowledge and safety skills to employ safe working practices on sites.
The CCNSG (Client Contractor National Safety Group) Safety Passport is the engineering construction industry safety card. Workers must have a valid CCNSG Safety Passport to enter many engineering and construction sites.
Learners who already hold an ACE card, will receive a combined CCNSG/ACE card.
Learners can only undertake the test only renewal if they hold a CCNSG Safety Passport that has not yet expired.
The CCNSG Safety Passport needs renewing every three years.
What does the qualification cover?
Topics include:
- Overview of Health and Safety framework in the UK
- Accident/incident causation and the impact of safe individual behaviour
- Safe Systems of Work
- Common workplace hazards and controls
These topics are not delivered and should be revised prior to the exam.
How long will it take me?
This qualification route is test only, therefore there is no classroom delivery. It is advised that learners revise the topics prior to taking the exam.

How will I be assessed?
You are assessed by a 60 question online multiple choice exam. The pass mark is 48 out of 60 (80%). Learners must pass the exam to successfully complete the qualification.
Are there any entry requirements?
It is expected that learners have a minimum understanding of Level 1 in Literacy.

To undertake the renewal course, you must hold a valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
How much will it cost me?
The cost of the qualification is £75.
Upon successful completion of the qualification you will be presented with your temporary Safety Passport. This will be valid for a period of 6 weeks. Your actual CCNSG National Safety Passport will follow in the post.
In scope firms who pay into the ECITB Training Levy, may qualify for grants to cover the cost of the qualification for employees.
